PHI represents a wide range of human resources on a variety of languages, writing systems, literatures and cultures, ancient and present, as well as the restoration and archivation of manuscripts. Besides the preservation, editing and study of important source materials, PHI is also engaged in educational activities. These activities are not only directed towards the teaching of students of the respective fields but also aims at reaching the general public. For this purpose members of PHI engage in translation projects, seminars, lectures, etc. on a wide field of topics in the service of public institutions as well as private companies and organizations.
